Open Gait Stables is a family owned farm that opened in 2000 as a small 10 stall farm catering to a few close riding friends.  Over the years, we have grown exponentially with new state of the art stables, additional arenas built with premium footing and a luxurious clubroom for everyone to relax and enjoy watching the horses.

As we have grown, one thing has stayed the same, the feeling of being part of a family.  We are one big equestrian family that will continue to grow, have fun and love all our precious horses.

Our Trainers...

Jessica

Jessica is our head trainer who has been riding horses since she was 7 years old.  She has been competing in jumpers for most of her life, traveling around the world, showing and winning as she goes.  She has since stopped showing internationally but does still ride around the country.  Having a background in Jumpers, she has helped countless riders move up in the show circuit and win, all while making sure it is fun for the horse and rider.

Her unique style of teaching has made her a sought after trainer for the hunter/jumper arena.

Rachel

Rachel is our assistant trainer who was introduced to horses at 13 years old.  She started competing at 16 in the hunter arena and has won many shows in her career so far.  Rachel helps train the newer, younger riders in the hunter and equitation arena, her upbeat personality and ability to make anything fun for the riders has immensely helped them gain knowledge and experience with horses.

And the Best Part...

Russo

Russo is our favorite schooling horse! With a warm and loving personality, he really takes care of riders at all ages and all experience levels.

Jack

Jack is as sweet as can be with a little spice when he really gets going. He is our youngest school horse and will teach riders what they need to know.

Tucker

As you can see, Tucker is our clown. He loves making faces at kids and playing with them along the fence outside. He also protects his riders like no other.

Our Horses

Our schooling horses are the perfect starting point for any rider as they each have a special place at our farm.  Some are quirky and make the rider work for what they want, others are happy to follow any direction without any push, but all horses take care of their riders and will help you reach your goals.Stop on in to meet all our wonderful horses today and schedule your first lesson.
